GUMP collaborates with Outside the Lines Young Artists’ Studio to provide a rich addition to our art program. An art teacher works with small groups of children once a week in our art room. These lessons introduce children to artists using varied techniques and art concepts.
Music is provided once a week. Singing, finger plays and creative movement are incorporated into each session, depending on the age of the class. The one, two, three, and four year-old classes attend chapel once a week in the church sanctuary. The children listen to a short interactive Bible story, sing songs, and talk to God through prayer.
At GUMP we also take advantage of the wonderful local resources. Classes may visit the public library, the Chrysler Museum of Art, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, or the local fire department. Artists, musicians, and local health professionals also visit the preschool for activities with the kids and/or evening lectures for the parents.
